Arda Güler’s Real Madrid story was already moving fast. Now it’s being written in ink that could last a decade.
Spanish outlet AS first revealed on Thursday that talks over a new contract were progressing well. Hours later, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano went further: Real Madrid have fully agreed all details with the 21-year-old’s camp on a long-term extension.
The deal is expected to run at least until 2031. Romano even reports a commitment through 2032, a staggering timescale in the modern game and one that would place Güler among the club’s longest-tied assets. Only summer signing Yan Diomande, brought in for a hefty €125 million and tied down until 2033, would be contracted for longer.
For Güler, this is more than paperwork. It is a statement.
When he arrived from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023, he signed a deal through 2029, a standard long-term bet on a precocious talent. Barely a year later, Madrid are ripping that up to build something far more ambitious around him. The extension signals his definitive graduation from promising prospect to cornerstone of the project at the Bernabéu.
Numbers Behind the Rise
The numbers behind the rise are stark.
Real Madrid paid €28 million to prise him from Fenerbahce. At the time, it looked like a bold move for a teenager carrying the hopes of Turkish football. Today, that fee already feels like a bargain that belongs in the club’s best business column. Güler’s current market value is estimated at around €90 million, placing the left-footed playmaker comfortably at the top of the list of the most valuable Turkish players in the world.
The new contract will reflect that change in status. His previous salary, reportedly around €5 million per year, is expected to jump significantly under the fresh terms. Madrid are not just rewarding potential; they are paying for production.

Last season, the youngster worked his way into the side step by step, turning cameos into starts and promise into end product. Across all competitions, he recorded 20 goal involvements in 51 appearances, steadily building trust with each performance. This season, under new head coach Jose Mourinho, Güler has pushed his case even harder. Mourinho, never shy about demanding reliability over reputation, has already leaned on him.
