The long-awaited battle between former heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is officially scheduled. The British boxers will face off on Friday, 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with the fight streamed live on Netflix.
The venue decision follows a dispute that nearly moved the event to Madison Square Garden in New York City, which would have sparked controversy. Instead, the stadium in Wales will host the bout, although the ring walks might occur in the early hours of the next day to suit American viewers.

At 36 and 38 years old respectively, both Joshua and Fury have been two-time world heavyweight champions. Their potential clash has fueled debate for nearly ten years. A previous agreement to fight in 2021 fell apart after legal threats from Deontay Wilder, who forced Fury into a trilogy fight. Fury then defeated Wilder to retain the WBC title just a month after Joshua lost his unified titles to Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua’s contract required a UK location, while Fury’s allowed more flexibility. Despite attempts to hold the fight in the US, objections from Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn kept it in Britain.
