Manchester United are set to make Monica Jusu Bah the latest piece in their rebuilding of the women’s side, having agreed terms to sign the Sweden winger from BK Hacken.
The 23-year-old is expected to complete her move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, a late-window addition that underlines United’s intent to inject pace and directness into their attack.
Jusu Bah will not come cheap. She signed an extension with BK Hacken in September 2025 and is under contract until 2028, meaning United must pay a fee to prise her away from Sweden. The figure remains undisclosed, but the length of that deal underlines how highly Hacken valued her.
Her entire career so far has played out in Sweden. She broke through at Umea, emerging as one of the most exciting wide players in the Damallsvenskan, before earning her move to BK Hacken in 2023. The step up did not faze her.
In May, she helped BK Hacken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, a landmark success for the club and another sign of her ability to deliver on a bigger stage. That club form has carried into the international arena.
Jusu Bah has already made 11 appearances for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, a sign of the trust placed in her at national-team level and her growing stature in European football.
United are not done yet. It is understood the club hope to add at least one more player before next week’s deadline as they look to deepen the squad for the demands of a long WSL season and European competition.
The move for Jusu Bah follows a clear pattern. United have already strengthened the spine of the team, bringing in defender Andrea Medina from Atletico Madrid and goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City. Now comes the injection of wide threat.
If United complete the deal in time, a new-look side will emerge: a reinforced back line, a new presence in goal, and a Sweden international winger ready to test herself in one of the toughest leagues in the world.
