Manchester United are set to add serious pace and pedigree to their attack after agreeing terms to sign Sweden winger Monica Jusu Bah from BK Häcken.
The 23-year-old is expected to complete the move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, as United step up an aggressive late push in the market.
This is no bargain swoop. Jusu Bah signed a contract extension with Häcken in September 2025, tying her to the Swedish club until 2028, so United will pay a transfer fee, though the exact figure remains undisclosed. It underlines how highly she is valued in Gothenburg – and how determined United are to bring her to Manchester.
Jusu Bah has spent her entire club career in Sweden, breaking through at Umeå before earning her move to Häcken in 2023. Her rise has been steady, not hyped, built on consistent performances in a league that regularly feeds talent into Europe’s elite.
The breakthrough season came in May, when she helped BK Häcken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, adding continental silverware to an already growing résumé. That success on the European stage has not gone unnoticed.
On the international front, Jusu Bah has made 11 appearances for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, a clear sign of the trust placed in her by the national team setup. She arrives as a player already tested by high-stakes football, not a project for the future.
United, who have already brought in defender Andrea Medina from Atletico Madrid and goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City, are not done yet. It is understood they still want at least one more signing before the window closes.
The squad is being reshaped with purpose. Jusu Bah’s arrival, once finalised, would add another sharp edge to an attack that needs to keep pace with the WSL’s title contenders. The question now is not whether United are moving – it’s how far this revamped group can go once the window slams shut.
