Mo Fuseini’s late heroics at Turf Moor have earned him more than just a point. They’ve earned him a ticket back into the international spotlight.
The 24-year-old forward, on loan at Derby County from Union St Gilloise, has been called into Ghana’s squad for the upcoming September/October international window. Confirmation of his inclusion arrived over the weekend, a reward for a player whose form and temperament have both been under the microscope in recent weeks.
He heads into camp on the back of that dramatic injury-time equaliser against Burnley, a strike that did more than silence Turf Moor. It snapped a run of three straight defeats for the Rams and salvaged a deserved draw just before the three-week international break. When Derby needed someone to hold their nerve, Fuseini stepped up; Ghana clearly took note.

For the Black Stars, this window carries weight. They will play three fixtures, two of them with Africa Cup of Nations qualification on the line. First comes a heavyweight clash with Ivory Coast on Thursday 24th September at 8pm (BST), a fixture that rarely lacks edge or narrative.
